EXPERIENCE

 

OPERATIONS/SUPERVISORY

- Experience with managing day-to-day operations of a 14-man utility line shop.

- Experience with material flow process and inventory control as related to line shop operations.

 

CAD/GIS

- CAD: Autodesk Map, AutoCAD 2014, 2012, 2006, 2000i, Release 14, some 3D rendering applications, and cursory knowledge of LISP routine scripting.

- Extensive experience with the Vision GIS application through the Automated Mapping/Facilities Management (AM/FM) project.

- Familiarity with ESRI Arcview 3.1 and Smallworld GIS software applications.

- Experience with collecting, interpreting, and mapping field data in support of GIS database maintenance. 

 

FIELD ENGINEERING

- Experience with utilizing various tools and methods to gather data and assess a variety of field situations related to electric distribution.

- Extensive communication with project managers, building contractors, inspectors, field personnel of other utilities, and other professionals involved in the construction industry.

 

ELECTRICAL / ELECTRONIC

- Experience with planning and design of electric distribution facilities (35kV and below).

- Experience with work orders and associated processes and terminology as applicable to the electric utility and electronics industries.

- Experience with testing and troubleshooting PCB and component level electronics.

- Knowledge of Electrical and Electronic Concepts and Theories.

- Experience with Oscilloscopes, DMM’s, Logic Analyzers, VOM's, and other associated test equipment.

- Some experience with PC troubleshooting and repair.

- Experience with printers and plotters: HP Designjet 750c, 1050cPlus, and Oce 9400.

 

COMPUTER / IT

- Experience with Windows 7, XP, 2000, 98, 95, and NT platforms.

- Experience with MS Office Suite, Lotus Notes, Milsoft, PSpice, Lab View, Adobe, and other applications.

- Experience with SQL query scripting.

- Experience with SAP.

- Experience with relational databases: Customer Request Work Scheduling (CREWS), Power On, Customer Information System/Geographic Information System (CIS/GIS), Customer Trouble Call System (CTCS), Distribution Transformer Information System (DTIS), and other utility specific proprietary applications.

- Experience with X-Window emulation in a UNIX client/server platform and 3270 emulation with AS400's.

 

OTHER

- Experience with Working Drawings, Schematics, Wiring Diagrams, Blueprints, Elevations, Easements, Right of Ways, Logic Diagrams, Flow Charts, and Topographic Maps.

- Experience with Board Drafting (Mechanical /Electrical /Electronic).

7/08 – 11/15Joy Mining Machinery; Franklin, Pennsylvania

Employed full time as an Electrical Assembler.  Chief duties were the assembly and wiring of the primary electric and electronic components and control systems for heavy underground mining equipment manufactured by Joy.

 

8/15 – 11/15Bartech Group; Southfield, Michigan

Employed in a short term contract as a Drafter II, at Cummins Jamestown Engine Plant in Jamestown, NY.  Duties included mapping, updating, and drafting the industrial controls system schematics for the two current engine assembly lines located at the facility.

 

5/15 – 8/15IPEG - International Plastics Engineering Group; Franklin, Pennsylvania

Employed full time as an Inspector/Tester.  Chief duties included the inspection and electrical testing of the company’s line of drying units for the plastics industry.

 

5/08 – 7/08Matric Limited; Seneca, Pennsylvania

Employed full time as an Electronic Technician in the Quality Control Department.  Primarily responsible for the calibration, testing, and troubleshooting of automated pitch control units for wind turbine blades.  Other responsibilities included the calibration, testing, and troubleshooting of a variety of PCB control components to insure compliance with customer specifications under ISO 9001 quality control standards.

 

6/03 - 2/07First Energy Corporation; Akron, Ohio

Employed full time as a Distribution Specialist in the energy delivery division.  Assigned to the Corry Line Shop in Corry, PA.  Duties included but were not limited to: running the day to day operation of the Corry District Line Shop; design, planning, and scheduling of construction work orders within the district; act as liaison and point of contact between customer and company; ordering of materials and insure proper maintenance of inventory levels; mapping of new construction orders and engineering projects within GIS system; initiate and insure proper billing of orders; act as interim supervisor when needed, and other related tasks. 

 

7/97 - 6/03Adecco Technical SA; Akron, Ohio

Full time contract employment as a GIS Consultant at First Energy Corporation.  Formerly employed through Kelly Technical Services.  Assigned to First Energy’s AM/FM GIS project to digitally map their Central Service Region of transmission and distribution facilities.  Duties included but were not limited to: GIS mapping updates, maintenance, and clean up; Milsoft compatibility analysis and data migration; CIS/GIS database maintenance; training of new and present employees; authoring of training and presentation documentation; production of map products as requested; scanning, vectoring, and heads up digitizing; circuit traces and reconfigurations; and various other troubleshooting activities in the Engineering Department.
